Volunteers

For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.

-Ephesians 2:10

VOLUNTEER FOR - Riding Lessons

Volunteers are the heart of our program. We offer one (1) hour riding lessons during each eight week session for individuals with special needs. Each rider and horse requires three assistants (one in front and one on each side). Volunteer training sessions are offered prior to each riding session.  Every new volunteer is required to attend a training session. When you attend training you will learn the layout of the ranch, how to groom and tack our horses, how to lead for our riders and how to facilitate classes and games. This is a great way to get an understanding of therapeutic riding, what your roles and responsibilities are and to meet other new volunteers. Your commitment as a volunteer for riding lessons would be two to four hours per week for eight weeks. Sessions are offered fall, winter and spring and lessons are typically offered Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, as well as Wednesday morning. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to work with our participants.

Dress Code for Volunteers:  Conservative please.
No spaghetti strap shirts, short shorts or baggy pants.
No open toed shoes – wear tennis shoes or hiking boots.

VOLUNTEER FOR - Maintenance Crew

There are many different jobs that must happen on a daily basis to keep our horses healthy and keep our facilities in top condition. If you are available on a regular weekly or monthly schedule to come help maintain our animals and property, please let us know. You will need to schedule a site visit to meet with our director who will determine what would be most suitable.

VOLUNTEER FOR  -  Field Trips

During the school year we are open to the public school system to bring special needs and at-risk students for horseback riding and outdoor adventures. Volunteers are needed to help with these activities. Groups usually come on Friday mornings between September and May.

VOLUNTEER FOR - Summer Camp

Over the school break we host several different age based camps with horseback riding and outdoor adventures to special needs children. Each camp is hosted during the day for one week during June, July and August. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate a wide variety of activities as well as help us care for the special needs campers.

VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH - Fundraising

Throughout the year we host a variety of events and programs to help with funding our operations.  Volunteers are needed to help plan and execute these events.

VOLUNTEER FOR - Work Days

Every few months we host a ranch work day when volunteers are invited to come help us prepare our facilities for upcoming events. Volunteers are needed to help with a wide variety of maintenance chores, from using simple hand tools for painting and weeding to using complex power tools for construction and  tree removal.
